The air residents of Nairobi breathe is poisonous and can cause serious ailments including heart and lung diseases as well as cancer, a study has revealed.

I cant agree more. Infact, it worries me that apart from consuming it in traffic, a lot of people still find it in order to exercise by the roadside. I tried a few walks sometime ago and the fumes from the vehicles were just too much. I also noted how the walls and plants next to pavement had become black and wondered what would happen with a year of such exercise... you'd actually be killing you faster than sitting on your couch with a bowl of crisps watching tom and jerry. You can try exercising at karura forest. The air is so fresh in there unlike walking on the roads. I normally run 15km every week hapo kwa forest.

The air pollution prob has been irritating. I always wish that there's always a breeze in Nrb, but most days the breeze is weak, anyways, a breeze does not deal with the cause, the biggest being vehicles. All over the world, governments are giving citizens incentives for owning green cars e.g. http://www.greencarrepor...zhen-caps-registrations
Gov could also give a discount on the cost of elec for electric car owners, as well as give major discounts on import fees. Electric cars are ripe and can handle most of our daily needs. They tried to bury us, they didn't know we were seeds.

Someone here (I think @Washiku) wrote about how he jogged along the road.. I mentioned how self defeating that was, as they inhaled fumes and dust... Walinisikiliza?

At the same time, the don said that experts are worried because children born, raised and living in areas which are heavily polluted due to the never-ending traffic jams have little chance reaching the age of 50 with their lungs.

The other day I left Nairobi City for the verdant rolling hills of Murang'a tea country. The air was so cool and fresh it made me sick!

Those "pathways" across the tea bushes always smells rotten sh*ts and are full of shiet by the way. Thats what made you sick and not the perceived fresh air. Portfolio: Sold
