An 11 year stint as senior most Commercial honcho, doesn't it mean this guy oversaw Safaricom's march from 2m to 20m customers?

He got comfortable, so many sloppy decisions oflate. I don't think he held the position for the 11 years.

As you might have noticed from social media adverts by Safaricom (twitter and Facebook), it seems Airtel's UnlimiNet internet has significantly eaten in to Safaricom's arrogant data bundles market.

Just ask yourself, why would SafCom be advertising the return of 90days data bundles so much yet they have just launched 'newer' bundles? What would a marketer be publicizing?

Management overhaul was long overdue, particularly in the department that deals with mobile data.

Not a credible story and if it is, safaricom has massive fraud issues and should have restated its numbers.

It would be interesting to see what would happen if Airtel hired these two. Peter arina has been at safcom from the days of Michael joseph and if there is one guy who understands the secret of safcom's phenomenal growth, then its him.

Were they to join Airtel, it would be a perfect case study, to see whether staff thrive inspite of organisational culture or because of it.

Airtel, it seems to me, is like one place where you have to convince the top mgt that something can't work for it to be given a go-ahead.

It is Pauline Warui who was at Airtel. Peter Arina came from Unilever
