its just plain stupid racing on public roads. in one of the videos these guyz are so dumb to even race a wobbling car. tiens and brembo kits don't just transform a 1990's car race worthy let them buy real race machines and make application for road closures then they can go kill themselves.

Pardon my ignorance people but what is wrong with racing an old car if all safety precautions are catered for?

We used to have EA Classic Safari Rally some years back where old 1980s Datsuns would be used. Was it a schoopeed rally?

I think you've not understood @jamplu's message. Re-read it again.

There are other guys making a point similar to jamplu

I just happened to have watched this on youtube some months back.Just listen to the conversation, with the driver bragging of how the subie has Brembo brakes like the Cayenne he is chasing.

Did they really expect to catch up with a Cayenne GTS with their toy? smile

P.S I condemn racing on public roads.

I keep on saying I have no problem if these guys drive as fast they wish to. But you can't be driving at 180kph on a public highway. You will kill an innocent family very soon.

This speeding thing though I wonder if it's an adrenaline addiction. My photographer friend lost his arm on that road and he still nang'anas with speed. Is there such a thing as adrenaline addiction? Being addicted to high risk activities? I've heard of Russian daredevils who see many of their friends die during their stupid stunts but they still keep at it...

Could this be a fikifiki enthusiast? If so, I also know a little bit about him. Those two wheelers too are dangerously done. One actually died along the same Kiambu road last year. See others from around the world here

It’s a fatal attraction, the need for speed. The desire to explore the full potential of the hot wheels and the magnificent engineering makes an ego get turned on, get a rush from driving.
The desire for heroic stories ready to be told by harebrained egocentric drivers on the loose flouting traffic rules with reckless abandon.

The pleasure in seeing the speedometer hitting triple figures and going, as the car nonchalantly zooms past others with impatient ease, can result in noise growing from an eerie, stunned silence. Powerful but grave.

the problem sometime is these guyz just buy these brembos and teins kits and assume they are sorted that alone don't make a race car even those 70's and 80's ea classic datsuns and porches are modified for racing. roll cages, fire suppression systems, reinforced foot plates, strengthened chassis, the suspension mountings are reinforced even windows have to be plastic.
the car alone doesn't even make you a racer still some don't know how to keep up with the turbos they keep on blowing motors...

I think these are 2 unrelated videos. Note the guy driving the car is not wearing a seatbelt but the dead guy has one.

But the two tell the same story: racing in a 'public' road as in video 1, will lead to what you see in video 2. Besides, it is possible the guy put on seat-belt down the road before the eventual happened. Or may be the two are not related.
