Avoid Mumias stock but buy or hold Unga

Mumias today falls by -11.29% (there is also other negative news on same day).

Is 'wanjiku' reading this column and panic/euphoria selling/buying?

I thought share price cannot drop by more than 10 pc,unless there is a material announcement?

Now extrapolate that to Nairobi County and see where we will be by the time this fellow leaves office!!!

Each of those rights was then given 2 bonus shares effectively reducing their price to 16.50 (49.50/3). They have also received dividends aggregating 4.30. ... Too bad for them still

Mumias today falls by -11.29% (there is also other negative news on same day).

Is 'wanjiku' reading this column and panic/euphoria selling/buying?

I thought share price cannot drop by more than 10 pc,unless there is a material announcement?

Kenya Power has moved to court seeking to freeze Mumias Sugar Company’s assets until the struggling miller settles a Sh1.1 billion electricity bill – a demand that could worsen the miller’s dwindling fortunes.

The bill arose from Kenya Power supplementing Mumias’ power production plant between 2009 and 2014.

While the miller has only paid Sh70 million, the electricity distributor wants the court to compel Mumias to pay the total bill, a move that may disrupt the government’s Sh1 billion rescue bid of the sugar manufacturer.
