Can someone kindly do the math for @ ayushnehra factoring in splits and bonus shares.

My apologies that my math was wrong..!! When I said "Listed" I didnt mean IPO listed but i meant the was going on the counter for that much..But I apologise even more that you still didn't get the point of my post..

I'll repeat for you..This guy didn't invest crazily as we would have to, to earn this 433m. He created this wealth and worked his ass of for days and nights..!! And that is what we need to learn and follow..! Focus on how to be positive and grow rather than focusing something that will not help either of us..!!

Creating wealth works. Investing works. It is not either or.

Have you thought about people who invested in Equity (and did not work their asses off after that) as soon as they had the chance to? Those who invested in 2006 or before. Heck, even after! See post #16 above and you will see what I am talking about.

I'm sure people have made a lot..millions..but hey the post was about the man who will be taking home over a mill a day..!! And this who did invest..money to initially invest didn't come from a tree..they also had to work their asses off at some point.!

Listing done via introduction in August 2006 at KES.70 (a friend of mine bought 10,000 shares the same day at KES.71 each ),against the dealers advice. The dealer wanted him to buy CFC bank, then at KES .64,because in his view,Equity would collapse 'soon'
Anyway, Equity went on to give a bonus of 2:1 in February 2007 and a split of 10:1 in February 2009.
My friend ended up with 30,000 shares before the 2009 split which he sold at KES .300 in June 2008 & took the proceeds to real estate.
The 10,000 shares bought at KES.724,200 had shot up in value to KES.8,823529(net of commission)
Back to your question, the 10,000 shares bought then would be(have been) 300,000 post bonus and split valued at KES.15,441,176.50 net of commission.
Appreciation post listing,KES.14,716,976 or 2000% (20.32 times )

Thank you.

wooow........now what of those who had invested when it was still a building society b4 listing..........might be bought a share at kes 5.

if he bought post IPO and he became that rich ,how about the founder shareholders who bought shares during the pre-ipo . They should be far well off. Sometimes I think people who make it the most are people who target the pre-ipo . Once u become a pre IPO shareholder in a promising company tthen u set .. ...problem is where to find those promising serious companies before they hit nse

and to imagine that while being interviewed by Lillian Muli recently, he quipped; no matter how much wealth I generate, I can only wear one pair of shoes at a time, sleep in one bed at a time, drive one car at a time..

Regarding the companies which are smaller now and will be huge in yeers to come the best way I see is this..

CMA should come up with sort of an exchange for Small and budding enterprises...something like this is done in spain (kando ya the main exchange)

http://www.bolsasymercad...B_Investors.aspx#se_top

Now the questions is how do they come forward..I think a criteria should be set strictly (Like GEMS but not accepting every Kurwitu or HA) where applications are made by SME's and/or currently listed companies can nominate/vouch for them.

OR

Excuse the CMA ...WAZUA SECURITIES EXCHANGE..penny stocks.. Kazi iendele..!
