I called them again and they gave me the most bullcr... reason I've ever heard. That it's to encourage people to trade yet they are charging everyone whether trading or dormant. So I ask the lady where or how they'll get this money because it's illegal for them to touch my account or sell my shares without my consent and this is when she did the Kenyan thing of transferring the call to an unmanned extension. Anyway I've decided to move not because of the charges but because their online trading is a rumour.
@ 2012, What do you mean by that? It is more down than up. BBI will solve it :)

Anyone trading with D&B iTrader? When going through my online statement earlier today, I took note of this entry "YEARLY Transaction Fees from Client: XXXXXX For the Period 01-04-2015 to 31-12-2015...." Question is, are they right to deduct me in advance for service not rendered? I mean, what if I opt to change broker or liquidate all my securities?

They charge the 100 as ledger fee or account maintenance fee (for a CDS account - no matter how you normally access it). When you sell anything, they nyoa their accumulated ledger fees before giving you your money!!! Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

@MaichBlack...Granted this is what they do.Question that I can't understand is, why they are deducting me the so called ledger fee for months they have not offered this service? There is no way they can explain why they have taken the A/C maintenance fee for months of April 2015 to Dec 2015. No justification whatsoever. Anyway has fired them an email. As someone said before, let see if I'll be lucky to get a reply

I was at Dyer and Blair and I was very pissed. Three ladies at the counters and they don't have even the most basic information!!! I ask for details on opening a nominee account. No info. They ask each other and each has contradictory information. The lady goes to the back and comes with different info. She tells me I am apparently supposed to bring documents of the third party. THEY will be operating the account on behalf of the third party! I'm like, are you kidding me? You will be deciding the shares to buy and sell? I am the one who is supposed to be doing that. She goes to the back comes back and tells me it is okay, I can be the one running the account. I ask her which of my documents they require. She says none!!! ask her how do I operate the account and they have absolutely none of my data connected to the account! Argument... She insists that as far as the details of the third party are there I can just operate the account. Then I ask her, what if a random person comes and tries to operate the account now that it doesn't have my info. She thinks for a minute and goes to the back. Comes back and tells me that my documents are actually required. Then she tells me I need to pay to open the account. I ask her how much. The three of them get into a heated debate. Everyone has their own figure! You guessed it. She goes to the back. Comes and tells me 3k. I ask her if it also attracts the 100/= monthly ledger fee. She is not sure. The other two are also not sure! Back to the back.... Dyer and Blair are brokers and I have dealt with them for years. They are okay but the lack of basic information by their employees is very annoying. Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

I discovered that companies nowadays employ receptionists, sales personell & customer care ladies basing on looks and not knowledge/knowhow and pay peanuts..of course such a person won't ask a higher salo. I once Inquired from 1. Different Insurance agents of the same firm. 2. Bankers in different branches of same bank in one town..then went to other towns. I got variied answers on same product and service. The agents do not know facts about what they sale... furthemore they also don't know the rates offered by their competitors on same products and services... As @MB said...you now begin to educate them...Surely that "pre training" misses something...You need to be informed about the organisation you work in at least 80%...I was surprised that one banker didn't know the financial perfomances..by q hy &fy.....his employer...IGNORANCE. watu wako tu ndeee ..busy body...hawezi jua his/her surrounding. Everybody STEALS, a THIEF is one who's CAUGHT stealing something of LITTLE VALUE. !!!

Placed them a call a couple of minutes ago, since they are yet to reply the email.Same information about this 'Annual discounted deduction' as they have given to @Mariacha. However the customer executive couldn't explain how what was initially advertised as MONTHLY charge is being now effected as ANNUAL fee and deducted in ADVANCE.Also she muttered something of a management decree and change in policy with a final word..."We shall be sending emails to the customers". Will be waiting for this

Who told them you will be with them the whole year??? You might be moving your account to another broker next week!! Why deduct the money for the whole year in advance? Or they are the only ones who know something called time value of money??? Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

When did the monthly fee change to an annual fee? I mean I transact almost everyday so I don't really mind this charge but to deduct annual fees from clients who are not transacting is bordering on criminal. I saw the debit off my account a few days ago and just shrugged it off but I understand where the angry guys are coming from! Mark 12:29 Deuteronomy 4:16
