Silently returns to profitability after a slow recovery. Strange though to see it pay total dividend of 12 (interim 6 + final 6) vs EPS of 9.80. Unless the management is very optimistic going forward. Div yield is 7.5% at current price of 160. Dividend yield chasers will fancy this. @aguy - are you still accumulating? 130 - 140 has solid support. Year low is 135, still a long way to recovery zones above 200. $15/barrel oil... The commodities lehman moment arrives as well as Sovereign debt volcano!

Correction, not a return to profitability, it was profitable before. but it has snapped the losing streak, the first time in 2 yrs that profit hasn't dropped. The dividend payout puzzles me. last year 9.00/ share. this year 12.00 in total higher than EPS. Their retained earnings are 17 bn??? im i the one reading wrong? this could explain the payouts. For me anything 150/- and below i accumulate; 10% above yr low. Constructions are increasing and after bagging sgr contract 2015 looks good. Dvnd is sweet as it forms a significant gain cummulatively. Everybody STEALS, a THIEF is one who's CAUGHT stealing something of LITTLE VALUE. !!!

Thanks to, not so much to this years results, but next years'. The investor's chief problem - and even his worst enemy - is likely to be himself

D&B Commentary Quote: Our view.
We expect an increase in cement demand especially from the Kenyan market buoyed by government infrastructure developments such as roads, standard gauge railway ports, power plants and increased construction activities.
We also expect increased cement demand to be driven by improved macro-economic conditions as cement consumption is highly correlated to economic performance
The company’s focus on regional expansion, production efficiency and clinker production is set to turn Bamburi into profitability in future.
Rapid growth in population and increased urbanisation will increase demand for high rise buildings thus increasing cement consumption.
Competition: This has been a key risk among existing players coupled by intentions of entry by international market players in the industry which might exert pressure on cement prices.
Pesa Nane plans to be shilingi when he grows up.
