When looking for Kenyan news online, sometimes back i used to go every morning on the nation website. After that i would do a quick check on wazua to see any "breaking news" then pitia eastandard like once every three days coz actually their site is not that "ergonomical".Of late there is The star .Even though their journalists look a bit in experienced, they have lots of content and their site seems to have regular updates. I also noted that in nation, so many articles do not receive comments like before unlike the star's articles where you will find at leat 30 comments or more. Assuming 1 in every 20 readers leave a comment, then they might have a good number of readers. They reloaded their new version some few days ago. Could they overthrow the leaders??

Is that you Bwana Quarcoo?

On a more serious note if we were to gauge the popularity of a paper we have to look at circulation figures and adverts. The income earned from websites is not enough to even cover costs for these news companies.

My take on this is that on The Star, comments appear immediately so discussions are easier while Nation and Standard police the comments sections.

Star articles are also a bit better in terms of content and grammar compared to the other two - especially Standard which make me want to pull out my hair. I don't buy the argument that articles in the physical paper should be better ... high standards should be maintained on both (maybe newbies practice online before being published on the physical paper???)

Yes the Star has better content in all aspects from the gossip, county news to business analysis. Of late, its better than Business Daily. And who is this wazuan who doesn't know @kiash?
