I reckon it's a brilliant idea.

As has been mentioned however, the devil is in the details. The number of members/ investors will have to be limited to 50 (for a private company). Any more than that, the Regulatory Authorities will be on your radar.

This is a noble idea. I can consider putting some cash in once I have more information regarding the calibre of the management and the investment targets.
I know some guys who did a round of vc fundraising in Nairobi last year and the results were great. I missed that boat though. I am watching to see how they perform.
