If your signal quality is less than 50% your picture quality will be bad, anything over 50% is brilliant except for the SAYARE tv channel very poor pic quality,
for BAMBA I like that some channels like kiss, and NHK are in HD.

Men! if signet channels are clear to you then you probably dont know clarity or lets begin with.. whats the size of your screen?
Do a recording of any Signet/STV channels with its best recording settings then with your Pc check MPC detail properties of the recorded material(TS format) check the Bit rate, Size(Width,Height), Display aspect ratio, Frame rate mode and Frame rate before you talk abt clarity.
by the way let me correct you.. Digital cable technology can allow many TV channels to occupy the frequency space that would normally be occupied by a single analog cable TV channel that means sayare and all other signet labeled channels are all under one frequency space with same decoding quality..
Clarity begins with the content before it gets decoded with a HDMI enabled receiver and even if u get 100% signal quality but the content isnt HD then no HD in the long run. ask yourself why DSTV has separate HD channels

@Kihara has mentioned that some channels are in hd format - and he is right sayare has poor picture quality, and he is right moving from analog to the digital decoders marks a distinct improvement in the reception quality

Considering that I had to rotate my aerial for every channel I wanted to watch before, the quality am getting from digital tv is excellent.

The decoder you own has an inbuilt account for opening channels on 36E. Get a DISEQC switch and a 90cm dish, point it to 36E and enjoy..Already on it ...entire DSTv..but scrambles alot..You can also purchase DQCAM..Advise where to get one... and enjoy additional English channels on 7W. I am mentioning it because you already got the hardware.

For the freezing, change sim card to Airtel or use fibre.

DQCAM Costs $10 get it online.

You can also try BEIN. Yesterday, I bought a BEIN decorder for 29k from OLX, so i am guaranteed sports (EPL, La Liga etc) for the next 1 year. I am not big on football, it's the hobby aspect that drove me into it. RAnkaz will understand ASAS. Almost got myself an ADMC decoder but as from yesterday, they changed ownership so let me count my blessings.

Hii ASAS namalisa sisi. To imagine I was on the verge of getting the ADMC too. I think I'll try Badr 4/5/6 just for curiosity's sake. Ikiingia mzuri I may consider giving the myHD package a trial.

rankaz goodday & hope u r keeping well.

have been struggling with setup for sometime now but the best I could get are the usual Jazeera, dorar, sudan, syria tv,qatar etc & recently managed to get the many IRIB channels.
so where am I going wrong not getting the bulk of the channels? or is it time to invest on a sat finder?
checking my pointer seems am pointing my dish on the right path.

Anyone with experience with the Strong SRT 4910

This is a combo HD receiver DVB-S/S2+T...

The terrestrial bit takes care of the local broadcasts while the Satellite bit is for the adventurous.. @Rankaz13 @nahdy

Limitation to the SRT 4922 is that demodulation is upto 8PSK

How helpful is this box if one wants to nab those e.g irib channels

how does that demodulation affect functionality. though I have kidogo asas I am not very technical in those matters.

my remote for the 4922 broke down and I have not gotten another one so far = but if the 4910 has both then that makes it very interesting.

4910 was/is an old box which has been overtaken by technology. Its successor is the 4930 which had no terrestrial tuner though. The terrestrial tuner in 4910 is DVB-T which is useless locally s we are on DVB-T2.

4922 can demodulate 16APSK as well as 32APSK DVB-S2 signals too.

I think you can get a replacement 4922 remote from Abasheikh Electronics in the general neighborhood of Mwembe Tayari, Mombasa. If you dont exactly get one for 4922, the one for 4930 works perfectly with 4922, too.

I'm well and alright, thank you. Your mention of IRIB & Sudan Tv makes me think you're on Arabsat 5C @20E. To receive other channels, you'll either have to invest in a separate dish pointed at a different satellite/direction or/and try a multi-LNB set-up.

@nahdy @Rankaz13 The dish is it offset ama prime focus ? (How is your setup i.e. dish, lnb(s)& box?)

Did you get it in the local market & at what cost ?

How about the SRT 4922 box where can we find them stocked ?

Whether the dish is prime focus or offset boils down to personal taste/preference, satellite of focus, space available to mount the set-up, etc. I personally have a bias towards prime focus dishes, perhaps because they're what I began with. When mounting C-band LNBs, they're easier to deal with.

$922 as well as the 4950 are available in the general neighborhood of Luthuli at shops such as Riwara electronics, Mwalimu Communications, Alfa Sounds, Delight Electronics, Spikes Spares and Electronics, etc.
