Most of you are aware that banks use mobile phones as security protection by either sending SMS notifications or by sending one-time login credentials through SMS, a recent malware scam campaign used a mobile trojan program that runs on different smart phone models to foil that protection and successfully netted 36 million Euros.
Mobile phones affected are Android (Samsung), BlackBerry and Symbian (Nokia), as well as for jailbroken iPhones in which the Apple iOS security controls have been disabled.
The following steps are recommended to protect yourself:
Avoid jailbreaking your smartphone
Similar to the advise about phishing emails; never click on links on SMS messages
Don't install pirated "apps" or apps from unknown sources
