Would like a flight expert to explain why planes take off like they do.

It gets on the run way as it positions itself for take off. Then takes off with speed and just when you think its about to ascend it comes to an abrupt stop!
And the engine starts running again.
In less than 5min it runs like mad before taking off like a jet.
Its the most tense moment esp if your your seat is located near the wings.
So is the first phase a warm up ya engine?

Then someone tell me how an oversized person can fit on that slender plane to Arusha- Forgotten its name.

Brother, i also wondered about the same because i paid a visit to the cockpit after we landed at Moi Airport Mombasa, and the captains seat looks so small and tiny, a 6'5'' person weighing 100kgs cant seat there comfortably.

And then that take off thing, its like the plane gets chokozwad because it starts from 0 speed and within 10 seconds you are going at a terrific speed!!!

The take off sounds exciting, is it like those high rise building lifts, that ki 'whoooooo' sound that one hears especially when it's doing express mpaka top most floors. Then that Ka monumental period when the lift is coming to a stop, that Ka feeling as if it's falling.

Can't imagine the view especially over the oceans, must be breath taking. I have also heard sifa za the nuts served on the planes, nasikianga they are the best.

Shida is that at 35000 ft you don't see much except the endless forest of clouds below, looks like a massive layer of cotton wool. If you look horizontally or up its an endless bluish gray space. If there are no clouds one can see the ocean though coastlines are quite interesting. Ships are also visible looking like tiny cockroaches. During the night one can see city lights below.

Relative speed is something i find amazing ..whereas during takeoff the plane appears to be moving very fast, the impression during steady flight up in sky is that the plane is moving at snail speed - viewed against the sea of clouds below.... but the most amazing is when- in places like Europe, US & parts of Asia- where you look out the window and can see other planes in flight, some near some far. Imagine flying in southerly direction at speed of 900kph in this scenario, and happen to look out the window and see another plane flying northerly at same speed....well, the impression you feel is that the other plane is flying at twice the speed or 1800kph..I think.this is what they called relative speed in some physics class

Flying over southern Asia is turbulence. Not recommend for a first timer.

Swenani uko slow aje leo pwana? Am no expert but worked sometime at jkia. As the aeroplane leaves "the blocks" you also see it swing its flaps. allerons, rudder and elevators e.t.c then the pilot "tests" its thrust to check engines AND brakes as he approaches runway so he doesn't burn anybody nearby because it is now "point of no return" at this point only landing gear has not been tested and that is why landing gear issues are a more frequent issue, remember kq and fly540 e.t.c, it is impossible to test them properly before take off. All about safety.

My first time was not an experience. My boss had send me to drop a tender in Msa which was closing @4PM the flight was scheduled to depart for MSA at 1PM and I got the airport @12:55 and when they told me I can’t board I complained and said but we still have 5 min left!!!!!
