Amazing considering that they have completely ignored the lower end market. Lakini nothing lasts for ever. I expect that a third operating systems (besides IOS and Android) and better lower end phones from India or China will have them squirming soon..

Lower end phones will never upstage the iphone, apple invests a lot in technology and their corresponding patents so knocking them from the american market is next to impossible that with around $6 billion going into r&d.

With around $150 billion in cash reserves, and them diversifying their income sources (mostly music), add to that a crazy following, plus the americans and all the Wannabes - I don't see how a lower end phone from india or china can even come close to being a threat.

Nokia and blackberry were once apparently invincible. Look at where they are now!

I still don't think its a low end/budget phone that will cause apple to come tumbling dowm - if you look at nokia, then blackberry - it was more to do with new technology kicking them out, they really never adapted and really never innovated well enough in the smartphone era.

I think the guys at apple have seen that, thus the massive amount that is being driven into research. Will they remain at the top forever, I don't think so - but I think they are investing in the right areas and they should remain at the top for a considerably longer time.

Making products for the low-end market is what killed Nokia and (currently) Samsung.

Apple's strategy in the developed world is one product for everyone such that a senior executive shares the same platform as a lowly student.

You are missing the point. Apple is an aspirational brand. There are people who get Apple products for their practicability and reliability yet many more who get for the brand association.
This is a brand for people in the lower end to aspire to and if they can't then they were never the target. Think of it like a fashion brand, people will always buy Ferraris and Gucci.

BBI will solve it

How now??? Lets test this GDP theory amongst Wazuans. Choose one: a) 100% Apple inc. b) 33% of Africa
