Okay i also agree half of a yellow sun. I will get a copy on saturday. Will start asap. When is the first meeting! Chimamanda is a great. Read purple hibiscus and have been meaning to read half of a yellow sun. Yeah that is a great choice!! Its best to choose a day when we can be meeting to discuss like every other wednesday or thursday?
@ muganda that come to 3 the number of people who want to start with half of a yellow sun. That is quorum the rest will join soon enough.
@Wazua .. can you facilitate a virtual meeting room. People are moving away and to other virtual rooms eg google groups after meeting on wazua or SK.Eg Eskay company, SK charity. Stop playing catch up and be proactive and facilitate a virtual means to have a discussion.

Whooo Hooo it's agreed. Half of a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Adichie. It looks we're 5/6 already. Let's pick up the book over the weekend and start on the first chapters.

We post on who's got the book, how many pages we're getting through, what time you're setting aside to read...BUT we cannot discuss any of the content until after 1 week - Thu 18th.

Then we can exchange views on say first 4/6 chapters. I'll even post some questions from the reading guide for further chewing on the day. Can't wait to get started...

Also got invitation from TUJUANE, but i did not make it for the Book club. Any one who attended jana, kindly let us know how it was coz am also interested in joining a book club.

There is a very interesting book by Robert Kiyosaki-Conspiracy of the Rich. It could form a good discussion. A must read for investors and entrepreneurs

@Jacy26 just saw your post. Please let's start with the Half of a Yellow Sun (unless ofcourse you've read it). Plenty time to go through all the books soon...

@benzi good stuff on Tujuane. @Wakanyugi had also resolved to join StoryMoja. Right now we're about to embark on a journey to West Africa with Chimamanda Adichie. Maybe we'll tackle your suggestion next book if members agree... who knows?

Yes yes indeed, Thu 18; sorry for the oversight.

I've just picked my copy but haven't unwrapped it yet. I avow I'd seen a different cover on it before. This new one must be quite recent: very dark earthy tones; silouhette of an African woman clothed in red-yellow parterned garment. Even has an emblem proclaiming Orange Broadband Winner.

But I'll unwrap it today evening or on Saturday.
