Nissan X-TRAIL for an old man

I'm thinking of getting for an old man who lives in shags. Roads are not very bad...only the last 1km to his house has many rocks that hit the underside of his current station wagon.

Is the X-trail a good choice - all things considered?

What's your budget? All things considered there could be other options.

I have always assumed its a fuel gazzler and without resale value!

I think that is a great choice. It is affordable, has good ground clearance, better than a rav4 in mad, elegant etc etc. I once owned one and was very happy with it.
 It’s what you learn after you think you know it all that counts.

Budget is enough to buy an X-trail or other make of comparable budget

Hi talk to me i have been importing these models and can assure you they are good vehicles and not very expensive compared to Toyota Rav 4.

now that ground clearance seems like the main feature to be considered i would propose Toyota Rush or Mitsubishi Mini Pajero. For the same age you may be spending the same or even cheaper than the X-Trail
