@nesta, I'm personally not happy with the amount of reading I do these days. Why not start one yourself? I've seen charity clubs, investment cos in SK/Wazua... Why not an online book club?

All you need to do is ask who else is interested [count me in] and indicate genre of books [broader the better]. You could start by posting suggestions on book picks and when we all agree, we'd pick the book and share as we plough along.

Just a thought anyway, life is too short!

@Muganda. i think that's a great idea. I had thought of it but i don't know how convenient/fun it would be to do it online. I've also never been in one so i'd like to know how things are usually run in the offline mode.

In a bookclub pple discuss abt a book theyve read 4rm divergent perspectives.

I second muganda u shld start one here,ofcourse im game & maybe 4rm thea u cn make it offline...i propose "The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari"

Tujuane Book Club General Interest Meeting which will be held on Wednesday, February 17th, 2010 @ 6pM. 1st Floor Luther Plaza, Nyerere Road, (next to the Lutheran Church - Uhuru highway Roundabout / Nyerere Road.) At this meeting we will provide more information on the book club and introduce Lemmie Maloiy, book club facilitator/leader

Tujuane Book club is a group of professionals and entrepreneurs who meet in person, read the same book(s) and discuss it at monthly meetings. The club is open to professionals and entrepreneurs in Nairobi interested in increasing their understanding of career enhancement, the corporate strategic context, new trends in entrepreneurship, and the enduring lessons of results-oriented management.

Estimated membership cost: KES 600 per month - KES 7200 per annum. The monthly meetings will last at minimum 2 hours.

Sure would! I love reading..only that sometimes i get overwhelmed by events and dont get to finish what am reading,but probably a book club would help? We can start a google group for discussions once we're set(maybe after starting here to seeif the idea picks up...)

Good Stuff, I suggest we pick one from the following books. My suggestions are also by African Writers and they are not large books. All themed on actual events so we can learn alot.

Assuming we vote and agree, we can pick up the books and begin reading next week.
