As much as I don't like the North African team dirty tactics used on visiting teams, the penalty awarded to the hosts Equitorial Guinea v Tunisia in the 90th min with Tunisia leading 1-0 is surely the height of theft. Tunisia eventually lost the game 2-1. All senior Tunisian CAF officials have resigned from their CAF positions.

What followed afterwards was more than disturbing. The game sadly, degenerated into a flurry of fights and faked injuries.
At the end, the referee needed armed police escorts off the pitch as Tunisian players and officials chased him down the tunnel.
Note must be made that he blew the whistle about a minute before the end of time.
This is definitely shameful and, once again, raises questions about the credibility of so many things surrounding our favourite sport."

I think that Ivory Coast will not have an easy time with DRC. They tried to bury us, they didn't know we were seeds.

African football is very corrupt. Sad but true. That penalty against Tunisia was a complete sham. It is highly likely that the referee was compromised. Clemens Westerhoff, the former Naija coach mentioned that during his tenure, he was approached and offered big money several times by betting syndicates to fix matches. If coaches are approached ths often, imagine how many times referees are bribed, either by the home team or by betting syndicates. It is true however that North African teams are usually the receivers of referee favours and Kenyan teams have seen their fair share of bogus refereeing against especially Egyptian sides
