This article
is a bit dated but relevant to those of us who think that satire and freedom of speech means the same thing to White people as it does to Black people.

Portrayal of Black people falls into several categories which inform how many Whites interact with Black people all over the world.

As good emotinal simpletons who need white saviors:

Djimon Hounsou plays a sympathetic character in “Blood Diamond”, but his character is also written as naïve, emotionally-driven and in need of help from the white “hero” played by Leonardo DiCaprio.
