@Wa_ithaka, was trying to trace your previous post on the issue to no avail. Please enlighten the basis for 6 not 7 / 8...

Apart from the usual carry trade by foreigners, there is no reason (from a fundamentals-pt of view), why Safcom should be higher than Ksh6.00.

Why is this share (Safcom) all over the place when good results are coming in may and the future for the company looks rosy (t'least according to me)?Sad
I honestly expected it not to go below 5 at the very worst but it looks headed there .... what's really up?
Don't gamble; take all your savings and buy some good stock and hold it till it goes up, then sell it. If it don't go up, don't buy it...

@Cicero note that safcom is falling on low volumes than when it was going up...this downward trend cant be sustained.

This goes to show that trying to target an entry or exit price based on consensus is always a tricky affair. The trend of course is your friend but one has to be very attentive to when it begins to turn. International markets have turned positive again and Safcom tends to follow them fairly closely.

The run seems to be gaining some momentum again. Its now the highest climber of the day at +4% (sh5.20). It touched 5.25 at one point.

Demand is 17m, vs. supply of 4m

So far 480 deals done; volume = 8.7m shares
Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.

according to http://live.mystocks.co.ke/rmw.php, foreigners have only bought 7.27% up to now (2:32pm).
which are this local institutions who have bought the rest (92%)?

Now touched 10% gain - max allowed for the day.

But I'm still not sure.... live.mystocks saya supply =ZERO vs [22m demand] while richlive show 20m [vs. 41m demand]

Perhaps wazua should consider giving us this trading data

@guru - Did we wait too long?

On the other hand there are still 2 months to go before the year end...

I doubt but demand is very high though sellers who missed selling at 6/- will be all over this...

I expect the shareholder register to become smaller by the day!

it looks like even though the wanjiku's are selling out on this counter foreigners are still loving it... that explains the massive entry at 5 bob.... looks like i need a new entry point...

does anyone agree that this counter is very highly corelated to international market perfomance.??

markets were down last week about 4% and so was scom there up this week 3% and so is scom...

I think the correlation is low-medium at best... the liquidity of safaricom is attractive yet it is illiquid compared to developed markets...

the stock of the year, safaricom riding on the crest of the wave, demand is infinite to supply.6million divided to 0 equals to infinity. To those who has the share you must be smiling wide and big

This safcom share is behaving more and more like a football match ... say between Kenya and foreigners. When the ball started going to their goal and it looks like we are scoring, everyone is on their feet cheering on and feeling the adrenaline rush (almost marijuana rush)! But wait until the ball (price) starts coming to our goal, every of our peasant-selves gets so scared we start running out of the stadium (forgetting that infact the ball always goes both ways) ... only to reach outside and hear the noise of one of our own scoring.

When are most of the 800,000 small scale safcom shareholders going to exit the market? The share is never gonna hold anywhere above 6 shillings (dont even think sh.10) unless most of the fearful ones get the hell out ...

Demand is never infinite to supply. It's simply a matter of price. Sellers were caught unawares but others will show up as the price rises.

LOL... Is the World Cup on your mind?
Lakini Kenyans are peasants who can't even make it to the CAF cup let alone World Cup!!!

See what happened to Mariga. Kenya is not even in the top 75 FIFA list!!!

@cicero that was really funny.. and you are so right the small holders just keep on coming to the market with their sell orders as soon as the price is significantly above IPO...

but on the other hand i'm still hoping the sellers keep coming for a while longer so i can complete my plans but after that it will be GOOD RIDDANCE TO THEM!!!
