That is a cow boy contractor! We moved Our offices to UpperHill in Sept 2012 and the guy was on the ground already. As of today the area near CBA Bank , Upper Hill Springs Hotel , entrance of KNH , KUSSCO is a mess. No markings, pedestrian walks nor dust control is in place.

The only section which is not done is around CBAbank/BRITAM and Equity If Obiero did it, Who Am I?

Its no longer a mess, apart from road markings, many sections of the road are complete Boss, try driving to UpperHill Springs from lowerhill and see the winding route you'll pass to eventually end up at your destination In the evening, try driving from Citibank to Bunyala roundabout and tell us how you find the jam at Taj Mall towers where cars join in from Elgon road like tributaries. Kama hio si mess then your expectations on how the road network will turn out are quite low BEER IS LIVING PROOF THAT GOD LOVES US AND WANTS US TO BE HAPPY!

Three months ago, driving from citibank to oxford press a distance of less than 4 kms, you would end up driving for a total of aproximately 7-9Kms, three months ago,you could'nt drive from CBA to KNH but now you can. There is also no way you can drive from lower hill road to upper hill springs without going through the windings(either driver towards don bosco and join Elgon road or drive back to Hailesellesiand join chyulu road) ,Thats not the mistake of the Mattan contractors If Obiero did it, Who Am I?

Haya @ Swenani...maybe better but still a mess in my eyes compared to just digging one section, completing it and then moving to the next. I hope they take advantage of the Christmas break and finish up as much as possible i.e. by the time we resume in 2015, hopefully Mara Road will be done. The businesses there are suffering big time BEER IS LIVING PROOF THAT GOD LOVES US AND WANTS US TO BE HAPPY!

Don't blame the contractor because without money for financing the actual construction, he couldn't be philanthropic enough to use his own money. Its the ministry that is disbursing little funds over long durations hence the delay. But had he been given all the money at once, that's a project that should not take more than 1.5 years!!

The Employer of this contractor is to blame for the mess around Upper Hill. If the contractor is in default, he should be dealt with as per conditions of civil engineering contract including being fired. The engineers of the employer should be taken to task for the mess and delays in completion

Transport PS John Mosonik said the construction of the 5.4km stretch is expected to be ready at the end of March — further delaying works whose completion has been delayed at least four times. The PS had earlier assured users of the roads in Upper Hill — the city’s hub for commercial offices — that the project would be completed before the year ends after missed deadlines of end of May, July 1 and then August 27. I suspect this road is purely and directly being funded by GK.
In such cases the money comes slooooowly
