Condolence to family.

I'm going to mention some things with regards to safety.

I still insist on roll cages in private rides as standard, even helmets. Makes no sense to protect pro racers in circuits, while normal folk go bare. Anyways, we can do it by our own choice without waiting for legislation.

Something that will revolutionize the car is autonomous vehicles, the advent of these vehicles will greatly reduce accidents by eliminating human error.

Regarding the S Class, they have something called Pre-Safe Brake.

roll cages are not practical on everyday cars, the problem is that policy in kenya limits most guys to buy 7yr old cars for tax saving purposes and as such majority of guys dont get to enjoy the top tech safety systems that are standard features in todays cars but were options in cars seven years ago, take for instance, this unfortunate gathecha chap might have survived the crash if he was driving a 2012 toyota crown with early warning radar system that warns the driver of an impending crash and even applies the brakes early to avoid the crash, if he was going too fast the early warning system would have alerted him and if he were to swerve then the ESC system would have checked in to stabilize the car.
what needs to happen is that KRA needs to review its tax protocols for used cars and KEBS should do away with the eight year rule and introduce a three year rule, this will reduce road accident fatalities significantly

Ditto ^^. However, even that 7/3-yr rule shouldn't be there! Why can't we have manufacturers making their cars here? Why import? Capital flight!

I'd much rather we have Chinese making imitations locally than what we are... a dumping ground.

And what happened to the no-trucks/buses-at-night law?

@D32, how would a roll cage have helped in this situation? The guy drove under a truck and the car was sheared, quite similar to Jules Bianchi in the Japanese Grand Prix who by the way had a roll cage.....Roll cages mitigate what the name suggests, rolls to prevent collapsing roofs. He would probably have had a better chance if he had side airbags. RIP.
