RIP Gatheca. I lost a friend last year on this Road under same circumstances. Stalled truck. He died early. Sema gory scene! Very traumatizing.

Looks like he drove right under the truck. Sadly this is the kind of accident that slices off the torso... ouch.

Condolence to family.

I'm going to mention some things with regards to safety.

I still insist on roll cages in private rides as standard, even helmets. Makes no sense to protect pro racers in circuits, while normal folk go bare. Anyways, we can do it by our own choice without waiting for legislation.

Something that will revolutionize the car is autonomous vehicles, the advent of these vehicles will greatly reduce accidents by eliminating human error.

Regarding the S Class, they have something called Pre-Safe Brake.

Is there cause to sue the driver and owner of the truck for manslaughter resulting from negligence? Would set a precedent for all other cases. Shida ni autopsy reveals high alcohol levels etc. But it is a fact that stalled trucks have killed very many people...and will continue to do so...


I have been a victim and as late as two Sundays back,i witnessed a similar incidence along Eldoret-Malaba highway.What came to mind then and what happens in some countries,an authority is tasked with clearing those kind of hazards as soon as they happen.This can be done at a cost to the truck/car owner if only to spare lives.Over to you Lee Kinyanjui at NTSA.



let's face it ,ntsa will not help ,other than enhancing corruption ,thika road should be well lit ,it should be them promoting safety ,you will never see a stalled truck in kigali due to the stiff penalties .

From my 8-4-4 analysis of the wreckage, the observations are;
1. Front section bonnet, Completely intact
2. Passenger sides, completely intact
3. Rear section (boot), completely intact
4. Driver side, damaged
5. Roof, damaged

Scenarios,
1. The car was hit from the side, I.e. murdered
2. The driver swerved so much that the car turned 90 degrees and slid hitting the stationary truck. SPEED
3. The truck was so high that the car went under and the hit something on the driver's side(??????)

Conclusion
1. very High speed driving
2. poor visibility of the truck (lighting or intoxication)
3. Negligence on the stalled truck's part (warning signs)
4. Poor road design (hindering visibility)-I highly doubt this
5. CONSPIRANCY
