One thing that all kenyans can learn from JJ is loyalty. Loyalty to a party, loyalty to a cause. If only we can replicate such loyalty and commitment in our work places, marriages/relationships, siasa etc then kenya can go very far.

And it was sad to see jj abandon kanu after baba joined kanu and took over his SG seat. It is just sickening to think that someone would scheme and shamelessly take over the seat of kanu's most loyal supporter. Lakini baba did it, kweli baba has no manners or even an iota of decency. Sad. I hope baba today apologized to jj's family for the dispicable thing he did against jj. It's hard to imagine that a man "can live with himself" after doing such a thing. It's no wonder that all baba's political adventures have failed, and this I can attribute to the curse that befell baba after he snatched that seat from jj. Choices have consequences.

Is Moi unwell? Its unlike him to miss JJ's burial. JJ spent the better part of his life defending Moi. Asking Gideon to take his "bicycle" to represent him isn't good enough.

I think Moi is cold blooded.......
In related news, I am very suspicious of teetotallers. Their vices are more deadly....cannot afford to surrender control even for a single moment, cause in the conscience lurks something dark..., but thats just me.

You are right...Then they convince themselves that people who do not drink do other evils instead. Then you ask them to list those 'other' evils. They start bra bra bra-ing things you never even dreamt of ever doing. Further, As they narrate them, they realize infact they are in those evils too. So the beer has not really stopped them from doing those evils, apparently. Evils that mostly come up are #Womanizer#Wife-batterer#Pornography# etc only to realise most of those are associated with those who don't have control over their drinksmile smile

Kamotho vs Michuki and Kiano vs Matiba made Muranga politics interesting in those days. Will never forget how Gatunguru residents wailed in horror after JJ lost to Michuki in 1983.
Ken is the last one standing.

Got my first Kshs 500 from the man. He was campaigning in Central for an MP who had just defected from FORD, used to drive in a sleek new shape (then) Pajero, which was the swankiest SUV of the day.
So I am buying bananas at this small roadside market when Kamotho and entourage suddenly stops. The guy steps out and talks to the marketwomen and a few guys for a few minutes. Then he instructs his sidekick 'wapatie lunch' and this thick wad of brand new 500/- notes comes out. The adults get a K each and I am about to miss out then Kamotho says:
'Ona kimwana, nigikugurira nyina iria'.
Pap. Got 500/-. Was in Standard 7.
Farewell JJ Kamotho.

Fare thee well JJ.

Babu appeared in deep thoughts during the whole ceremony...

One observation..the send off was very calm and speeches were not interrupted. Friends and foes in Central came together with no incidences.
