Guys,

Some piece of Advice, when you buy - make sure you have an exit strategy. I Wish I exited KQ at 59/=. Don't be too greedy. Have a good Weekend
Do it today! Tomorrow is promise to no-one.

@mufasa, well said, and pole for the pain. As we were debating on a another thread, I've learnt controlling your emotions can indeed make you more money.

I tell you it takes a lot of will power to sell KQ when it's gaining 10% every day on the third day. Or to buy, when it's trading at 19.55. But therein lies the secret to success - it's easy, we all know it, but to actually do it...

That is so true! When a stock is low we doubt it, when it's in the middle we think that's the highest it will go, when it's high it's overpriced. So we end up buying the safe ones, the ones everyone is talking about - the low risk low return.

BBI will solve it

@VVS: Its really hard to sell KQ. Most of the time you'll always be caught flat footed, when it suddenly drops 10 percentage points. Thanks for the earlier tips. Is there any truth in KQ and Ethiopian Airlines Merger??? Its making me salivate, I don't want to be caught flat footed on that one.

A merger I doubt (what's your source?) maybe the usual airline partnerships although I can't see this one bearing any fruits.

@mufasa,
FYI ,ET is a government corporation i.e parastatal
so the supposed merger must be a wild story.

@mufasa - No to the merger. Ethiopian is owned by their government & is one of the few institutions that work there...

I think the Ethiopian government keeps its hands off the airline... pride & joy of Ethiopia...

So merging with KQ is unlikely... It is larger (planes & routes) than KQ...

@mufasa there will be no merger.. it was just rhetoric from KQ'S CEO sometime last year to give the share price fuel

@guru @mufasa

Naikuni was giving an example on how African governments create artificial roadblocks to 'protect' their national (inefficient) airlines...

I think he was trying to say that whereas a KQ-Ethiopian merger makes sense but unlikely to happen... siasa...
