I need some urgent advice. I have been unable to access my account with dyer and blair for a while now and my multiple emails and phone calls have all gone unanswered.
To those of you in the Diaspora, which brokers would you recommend? How do you go about your remittances? Are there any other brokers out there with online account access?

Happy investing to all

kelele,
On Dyer& blair ,i have been with them for close to 4 years, guess what they can be very good at times if they mean to.there communication is good but you need to make sure they hear you always the clerks take advantage of clients money(i have been there b4 trust me).Well with me i trade regulary may be thats why.But all you need is if you have someone in Nairobi you can trust ,just let them know that person is yr representative or put that person as yr contact person at the CDSC contact form. Myself i use my sister if i really have a problem i email direct to D&B.Or try call the management or email direct to the bosses.I know how it can be frustrating can

Try NIC if its just online access u want. However, the best broker in the mkt by miles is Africa Alliance.
If you just want to make sure your shares are save, contact CDSC who'll give you an update on your shares.

@wnyina asante sana muheshimiwa. I have been using a relative in Nairobi lakini he has since moved. I used him for everything including depositing my remittances. Do you wire yours directly to D&B and how has that worked for you?

@waithaka, online access would be a plus but I am looking more for reliability when it comes to execution of orders.

kelele,
As i told you about your relative is because the staffs or clerks in D&B fear being known or reported by customers.Hence, those dubious behavior they have against customers money. They fear their job security could be jeopardised,However also trading timeline is facilitated and inorder the flow of business opportunity when it arises.email me back @nmmos1960@yahoo.com i help u more

Kelele....Don't bother urself looking for other Broker..they r birds of the same feather...I have been with Dyer for sometime now and I find them sweet and sour...sometime they reply immediatelly sometime u have to send a reminder.don't even look for a relative..what for??? run ur show by urself.just tell them u r in the Diaspora and can not report to the office to place the orders...I did that and my orders are being executed accordingly.REMEMBER TO STATE YUOR PRICE when placing orders.NEVER place them on BEST PRICES..U'll be screwed.Just quote the prices you want. They r ok...save urself the problem of moving from Broker to another..it's not as easy as u think u'll wish u never invested.otherwise ikiwa hawasikii just piga KELELE..they'll definetly hear you.

Does anyone know of a Dyer & Blair phone number that actually works?
Please share it. I think they've intentionally blocked their pilot lines. Very frustrating!

BBI will solve it

I use CFC and even though they too have their moments of unavailability, I find them okay. Previously, it was impossible to wire money directly, but as at this week, I was able to get somebody to provide instructions on how to go about it. Problem is, 2 days later, the money i put through is not reflecting :(
Tired of mediocrity. Am going to the very top!

@2012- D&B seems to have turned things around for me. The correspondence via e-mail has been timely of late and getting the guys via simu is not such a hassle anymore. The service is by no means perfect but I can leave with it.
Sometimes you just have to 'kupiga kele' as noted by SUSU above. It works lol

Kelele I use Faida and I have not had a problem with them thus far. I wire money directly to a designated account and provide instructions online & email.

@JBLAZE, I have not tried to wire funds directly to D&B although they obviously do provide the facilities to do so. I'ld hate to be in the same boat with RichVee. Sometimes, a day makes all the difference in this business.
I’d assume it takes 3 to 4 days for your funds, send via wire, to clear

I use Suntra. Brokers are all but the same. Once you wire the funds into their account they cut communication until after a week or so. They will then effect your order with over 1 shilling above current quoted price. Then cutoff communication with you once you question the transaction. Very Very frustrating. I use E-Trade in the US. Cant wait for those folks in Nairobi to emulate the first world service.

Ja the best thing to do is to state ur price n never trade @ the market unless u r selling...i used 2 be with sterling those guys used to suck big time when ever i was home(Namibia), u place ur order via email they will @ the highest price of the day n if u selling they will take days n sell @ the lowest price...but now i'm with d n b everythin is sawa, hakuna matata...
