Ipad comes only with Wi-Fi connectivity....also 3g but hooked to AT&T.Now how many places in Nai have Wi-Fi?Just a few restaurants/cafes/hotels......Clearly not so applicable in Kenya (Africa).

3G model will be launched in April 2010. And Orange will be the network of choice in Kenya. Lakini does Orange Kenya offer 3G...????

(I do not think so coz they dont have the $25mn for the 3G license)

So what? Give it till 2011... It needs a break-in period to clean up the bugs... and a software update will sort that out...

By 2011 even your chinese pals will be making generic ipads running on windows!

Its a basic function, even my iphone can multitalk once I jailbreak it and run backgrounder. They should have just copied the hacker who wrote backgrounder!!!

This Steve Job guy is a genius who have see it all.Have been going through the web critics of the Ipad, its functionalities, Apps, design etc and im convinced the gizmo will do fairly well in the tech savvy market that is West though lack the basic expected spex for such an equipment.Time will tell though. If i got it right IPAD is not a smartphone, neither a netbook nor an improved version of Ipod...its a revolutionary device, a combination of all these in a way.

ps: You can follow the link below for Steve jobs inspirational talk to Stanford '05 graduating class

i wonder what Steve Job's next product will be...?

iMum, iKid or iDad...?

like some of you have said, i think it will not only struggle in the African market but also abroad, to me it's a duplication of iPhone and iPod touch..

For the African market, Apple is launching the new iPresident, a multi-tasking high speed product, with a super long battery life, that is very interactive and highly productive.

It will change the way we live.....

someone needs to checkout the HP Tablet, same concept and runs on Windows 7 that gives people the opportunity to write any fancy application that replicates the IPad's inbuilt functionality very fast.
I think if marketed well the HP Tablet MAY beat the ipad. but in my opinion...tablets are too clumsy to have around. they have been around since 2001 and have not really hit the market well. Lets see how this thing does.
