TSad here are new high tech conmen on the loose. they'll send you a cell broadcast message confirming receipt of cash to your Money(M-Pesa, Zap etc) account and can retrieve the same message thereby convincing you they are "Service Provider" rewarding you for continued use of their services.
The catch is, you have to "confirm your details " before the money is actually deposited into your Money Account.
Watch out!
I care!

I received a variation of the same message on 31st December 2009. It read:

SENDER: 0721-560XXX

"F56AQ253 Confirmed. You have received Ksh 30,000 from Adam Kamau on 31/12/09 at 8:34 PM New M-PESA balance is . Happy new year"

Please note:

1. The sender is a personal number NOT MPESA
2. The M-PESA balance is blank. Sometimes, a
fictitious balance is used.

The trick here is, since you do not know the sender and the cash was "errorneously" sent to your number, you will send back the money without verifying the above transaction.
