Oh please! You claim to be a soccer pro but don't even know that 2012 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations was co-hosted in Equatorial Guinea and it was a natural consideration for this fallback for obvious reasons. This country was informed of its 2012 successful bid in
September 2006!!
From the economic front, please also be informed Equitorial Guinea is enjoying new found
oil wealth. With corruption running amok, President Obiang has for long held that oil revenues are a state secret and used this tournament to blind the populace.
Peace!
I know that the 2012 AFCON was co-hosted where did you get the impression that I did not?
We are discussing Equatorial Guinea being able to host
AFCON 2015 at short notice and you are here still talking about 2012?
I am not sure what your point about Obiang and corruption is. A Kenyan accusing Obiang of coprruption is a classic case of the pot and the kettle.
All I am saying is that Kenya is a joke country when it comes to hosting or bidding. Look at the shambolic hosting of the 2013 CECAFA cup where even Zanzibar vowed never to visit Kenya again.
Zanzibar !!
None of that has anything to do with oil wealth. In any case there are numerous countries that have succesfully hosted AFCON without oil wealth.
Lets just admit that Kenya is pathetic at these things. The first step towards solving a problem is to admit that we have a problem.
Our sports minister just wasted time and money on a useless bid for AFCON 2017 that had a snowballs chance in hell. Kenya is just pathetic. Lets admit we have a problem then work on the solution.
