With his sudden and shocking death, the late Hon Otieno Kajwang – Senator Homa Bay County becomes third member of the a special cabinet sub-committee formed to oversee the affairs of the International Criminal Court in Kenya.
Members of this bi-partisan committee included the late Saitoti, the late Mutula Kilonzo and Senate Minority Leader Moses Wetangula ( who represented PNU) and James Orengo, the late Otieno Kajwang and Amason Kingi (representing ODM). Saitoti and Kilonzo died in mysterious and to date unexplained circumstances.Needless to say, only last week, Hon Moses Wetangula was rushed to and admitted to a Kisumu hospital after developing severe and unexplained illness while aboard an aircraft in Western Kenyan. A few months ago, Wetangula escaped an apparent assassination attempt when his car was short at along Mbagathi Road in Nairobi. This shooting was never investigated to conclusion.
While we want to avoid speculation of Kajwang’s untimely death, we call for a full and independent autospy to be undertaken to determine the real cause of his death. We also seek to know his last movements and his close interactions in the hours leading to his death.
