That story on KTN continues to shock me.
Almost had the damn thing installed in a small fleet after I saw them recover some vehicles in Kabete the other day on NTV news.
Has the owner been arrested? I bet he's a big fish in the carjacking industry.

Is Car Track genuine? Any proof?

infact it used to work together with Star Insurance. If you insure with Star Insurance, they 'track it' for free.... no wonder it was all for free!

Some deals are like glass. Sometimes it's better to leave them broken than try to hurt yourself putting it back together.

Mtalaam,

Did you say recover as in 'recover'........I mean you organise for a car whose owner is not known to the general populace and/or your customers, hide the car somewhere in Kabete and then 'recover it'.......Voilaaaa....The damn gadget works.......Damn....!!.....More customers....BTW,They never say much about how many cars fitted with the gadgets have never been recovered.....

A quick addition

Reputable insurance firms (the big fives) insist that you need to install your vehicle with a tracking device or a remote engine immobilizer for it to be comprehensively covered against theft (check your policy statements). Proof for this is and has been submission of a 'CERTIFICATE OF INSTALLATION' alongside your policy application/renewal form. It now seems that both the insurer and the insured have been conned big time all through.

You can imagine how many such certificates are lying in these offices

...Some people can make quick quick money!! By the way guys, when you take your vehicle and leave it to that trusted mechanic of yours to carry out a normal service,do you know that the spark plugs are never changed? Wanakwaruza kwaruza zile zilikuwa ndani so that they can work well for about a month and then you start having probems. It is good to ascertain that the things the mechanic has indicated have all hecked. In other words you have to be there!!!

Njung'e,

That's exactly what I thought yesterday after that KT piece.
The recovery at Kabete must have been staged by Shezad Tejani
and his goons. Because coming to think of it,nobody was arrested.
It was a scam PR story. Had me fooled too.
