in their IM, uchumi talks only about KCB and ICDC loan.

So do they have a Coop Bank Loan

The 'loan' from Coop 'is asset-buyback' (thus, Uchumi uses less of it's own cash on fittings. Frees cash/flow. Pay slowly, slowly - like ART) . Leverage as a whole is explained toward the end of this video. https://www.youtube.com/...d&utm_medium=twitter

Interesting. We probably need an accountant here since the fittings will remain Coop's property until after 5 years.

Probably, we'll get to know more as the expansion proceeds. In terms of draw-down of the facility.

The deal maybe wasn't concluded as they couldn't agree on the terms and conditions of the loan.
The article in business daily was a reporter reporting on a deal that had yet to be concluded and deal signed.
So in this case the coop loan maybe non-existent.
Same case with Sony sugar and co-operative bank loan deal that sony opted for the gava (Kenya sugar board)

Debt by any other name is debt. JC is just trying to confuse us. Its like saying that a mortgage is not debt, you are just renting the house from the bank!

Shilling is under pressure, CBK might increase interest rates to attract forex and relieve pressure. So why do you want to leave mm now?

Money market has gone above 55% of my portfolio need to reduce it to 35%. I'm currently looking for beaten down stocks that can give 3-5% dividend yield and capital gains or 7-10% which is equal to the mm yield

On the negative side I think the capital gains tax is going to wipe out this small marginal gains on equities completely because the minimum tax plus other commissions could be as high as 7% plus

Is there anything fundamentally wrong with Carbacid that can support the decline of price to 20/=?
The opposite of courage is not cowardice, it's conformity.

Fundamentally no cause for worry. Its just a post split hangover like others which have been down that path.
The main purpose of the stock market is to make fools of as many people as possible.

Some analysts here in Wazua and elsewhere pegged the fair price at 18-22 when it was at 40s
