When these sugar companies collapse they go into receivership & its major creditors bring in their receiver managers so as to milk out what they're owed. just like in cases of muhoroni, miwani e.t.c sijui mahali shareholder huwa. given their debts are in billions?? sijui. As said here in wazua invest in a company that you can visit around, check mood, compare with sector, have facts on ground then make a decision. I remember earlier on in other threads I DEMONISED this farm & gave examples of how Miwani, chemilil, muhoroni sugar companies had similar problems i& died. watu hawakutilia maanani. This MSC could collapse & no one will care for economic impact. webuye panpaper did, kikomi, rivatex among others including the ones above.Cheap imports are available. Cost of production is very high in money&time. imports are cheaper and save time.

Totally true. Even politicians from those regions will not care so long as the so called sugar barons "see them"

I do not think CMA suspends a compnay because of the share price in the market ( this is a willing seller willing buyer market). I think it only does when it sees that the company will surely collapse. I thought Neveready was suposed to be suspended long time and that never happened.

Mumias is selling below it's PAR value of 2/=. Evrdy never went below it's PAR value of 1/=!!!

Going below PAR value has nothing to do with the co but the speculators in the market.

In stead lets say Eready never made as big a loss

@jerry - If you scan a number of markets globally you'll find stocks trading below PAR. BSE India had plenty last year.

For MSC I was expecting CMA to have stated something since the auditors report is already done. Quick to suspended CMC, buyouts etc, but asleep here...

News : Normal operations resume at Mumias Sugar Company.
http://ntv.nation.co.ke/...t-mumias-sugar-company/

The indirect news with this company is getting boring, I thought they had reported that they would close for 45 days for maintenance?
