The way I get to know is by buying from sources that are beyond reproach. In my case Duty Free shops in AMS and LON

I was made to understand Grade 1 are US/UK imports, the high grade stuff direct from accredited distributors whose scents last and last (according to the specs) while Grade 2 are Dubai imports whose quality cannot be assured. So when you see a designer cologne going for a much lower price than the going prices online (Amazon etc prior to shipping) then know it is most likely Grade 2 or hizo counterfeits you're talking about @ Mukiri.
