When i watched him the first time in 2003, i couldn't believe my eyes. The guy has a way with the bible and full of wisdom. I was equally thrilled as his congregation in the Bahamas.

There was this day he was speaking about the Kingdom of God and how that works. A king provides for his subjects and so, all we need to do is ask the "King" in this case God to provide. The king says and its done. The subjects bring forth theirs need [to the king] and all is fulfilled. He went on to say how we treat God's Kingdom as a democracy where we negotiate and reason with God as we would do in democratic states.

In a democracy, the people rule hence they provide for themselves, unlike a kingdom. How can we then expect to be provided for by the King [God]?

The mess we are in as religious people is that, we've made God's Kingdom a democracy. We talk of changing times, civil liberties etc etc.

I also don't think his way of preaching would sit well with our "modern day preachers".

We are doomed.

This is profound!

Our future is not ahead of us, it is inside us the same way a tree is inside the seed. If the seed is placed on concrete it will never grow into a tree and become the fruitful tree it was meant to be because it is in the wrong environment. Similarly, we cannot become successful if we're in jobs that are not suited for us or doing what everyone is doing because we will not do it with passion. By the time God put you in the world, like the seed, your destiny was already determined but you are afraid to follow it because you are comfortable and the devil has brought fear into your heart of losing that comfort.

But it will hit home the day you retire and discover that you spent all your life actualizing someone else's dream (idea) as his employee and your strength is all spent up to follow your.

Profound!

How then, does one identify their purpose in life? There lies the whole issue!!!

Thanks for pulling the words from me. I love the guy as a teacher. One day I listened to him on family tv. The guy's amazingly inspiring! Never had any teacher blown up my mind that way. He was teaching about the kingdom of God.I wish I could reproduce what he said, verbatim! Absolute conviction.

He reminds me of this gynecologist (I think he waS Dr. Wangai) who once in a while used to preach at Nairobi chapel back in my days as a student. One of the most inspirational guys. To this day, bits and pieces of his sermons have stuck in my mind.
