Civil servants used to retire at 55. Can you imagine that kamwana would have been given a wheel barrow for retirement just 2 yrs from now coz he's too old?

My take....those times ppl were employed at quite young ages 18-23 thus at 55 they'd worked for 32-37 yrs. If a person works for 30 yrs he/she becomes tired unless in very senior managerial positions. Nowadays ppl get employed late 25-35 thus push to 60. check in all organizations those ppl working at those ages utaona wamechoooka. starting from lectures/teachers, in ministries,parastatals e.t.c especially hawa wa bamba 5.
