Which KRA asshole is responsible for this? “The insulin, 4,500 vials, was donated by International Diabetes Federation to Kenyatta National Hospital, which is struggling with shortage of the same. The target beneficiaries for this donation were children with diabetes and who cannot afford to incur the cost of insulin necessary for one to rescue their lives. This critical drug that retails at Sh550 per vial.” F**K KRA! Link

I initially wanted to rant at KRA but after reading the Article, I think KNH should have communicated to Tax man clearly and in advance. The consignment came through an individual's name, instead of the institution, why? Why did KNH wait till the drugs got into the country ndio wakaanza kuongea na Taxman? I think KNH is to blame. Those KRA fellas are hard nuts to crack, and will not tolerate any illegality (unless you fork out a massive bribe which in turn negates the underhand move). They frustrate the who is who, and you have to clear all the red tape. They are like robots, and I wish cops were this strict! Very shameful nevertheless, and vomiting on the shoes of our generous donors is not exactly a very clever move! Hope lessons have been learnt. TULIA.........UFUNZWE!

We also know how 3rd world nations are used as testing ground and/or dumping ground for almost expiring drugs. 1. Clearly marked/labeled packages, 2. Seeking approval from KRA before commencement of the process, 3. Approval from KEBS for quality. Receive with simplicity everything that happens to you.” ― Rashi

Why would charity goods belonging to KNH be consigned to an individual! Are the goods tax exempt? Did they apply for exemption? Did the donor know that goods would be cleared by an individual? KRA is no joke. They dont care abt the value but process.

And the whole obscurity surrounding the true importer and intention are fishy.

I guess the "importer" had other intentions. KNH should keep their incompetence in KNH. TULIA.........UFUNZWE!

Sooo, Let me get this straight:
A foreign company with a white savior complex negotiates with a douchebag at KNH to bring almost expired meds to Kenya. The KNH douchebag plans to sell the donated meds.
KNH douchebag forgets to factor in a bribe for the asshole at KRA. KRA asshole orders the the meds destroyed without regard to the poor kids for whom the meds were intended.
My ire is still with the KRA asshole who had a chance to salvage the meds but did not, but f*** the whole lot of them! washindwe!

This is a shame! And it is not the first time a similar thing is happening. There was once a donation of hospital beds for a mission hospital, KRA brought manenos and the donor got tired of storage charges, took them to Dar Es Salaam. The person concerned should get am itch where his hand cannot reach. ....above all, to stand.
