You don't need to go far to infer some of the stock proponents here are not only insiders but also include stock brokers.(4.2% guaranteed).
To what extent do the discussions here affect market activity or vice versa ?

Yes i am not afraid to say I go to great lengths to seek information that shall benefit my investments an in the process i've been rocking a couple of 100% gains in the years gone by.I call it research.What insider information involves walking into any Uchumi supermarket and asking a couple of workers where they see their company going an whether their welfare is being taken care of without seeking specifics such as expected profitability.

As in i've successfully beat my broker year in year out in returns,they make their money by turnover not giving you information on whats hot.So if you buy and sell 10 times a year based on what he'she says you are the one in a casino while he/she is the dealer.

Lastly wazua has people from very many backgrounds and am sure a couple of C-level corporates keen on knowing what the grapevine says about their management tactics.If you can't keep up,quit and go farm or do your own research and make your own decisions...just the way Centum is a well known growth stock,what more should one be told to justify buying it that's not in the press

The title of this thread does not convey what it is you are saying here. It is quite misleading. My expectation was that it would be about the Wazua discussions influencing the happenings on the NSE, which I was quite interested to see. Turns out that you are saying there are insiders on Wazua. smile

And on the place of value investors...our market is still quite unsophisticated, there is a lot of insider trading that happens. There is a place for value investors...in their own lives, quietly doing their thing and holding on to their value stocks for 20 years.

Even with the correction it is not a subject worth discussing. Wazua debate on the future of NSE stocks, do a post-mortem of reported results and in fact beat most if not all brokers in recommendations. In wazua the culture has it that occasionally elders bully (in our days 'monolize') hellos and new farers. Wazua don't like loss making counters, wazua don't like counters in which GOK has some shareholding. Wazua hate companies in which management has not invested in. wazua hate merali. The list goes on.
But for the Wazua effect on the NSE.... your thesis will be wanting

To me a more appropriate header will be stock brokers and foreign currency exchange dealers and commission agents effect on wazua.

Chicken and egg: which came before the other?
Am an investor (not a trader, not a speculator). I have made quite a bit on stocks, thanks to Wazua. How I use Wazua:
1. Get a shortlist of stocks from which I do further research - lots of pointers here from intelligent / credible analysis, whether insider or otherwise.
2. Get insights into various investment (and life) issues... from references, to lessons (Mwalimu alienda wapi?) to experiences to entertainment (esp airports and boeings!!)

The story of the wise and the foolish builder in the book of Matthew... 3 observations: both needed to build, both faced a storm. The difference is one STARTED his FOUNDATION on ROCK while the other built his on SAND. So, it all depends on what you come to do on Wazua
