The insulin, 4,500 vials, was donated by International Diabetes Federation to Kenyatta National Hospital, which is struggling with shortage of the same. The target beneficiaries for this donation were children with diabetes and who cannot afford to incur the cost of insulin necessary for one to rescue their lives. This critical drug that retails at Sh550 per vial.

I think KNH is to blame. Those KRA fellas are hard nuts to crack, and will not tolerate any illegality (unless you fork out a massive bribe which in turn negates the underhand move). They frustrate the who is who, and you have to clear all the red tape. They are like robots, and I wish cops were this strict!

Very shameful nevertheless, and vomiting on the shoes of our generous donors is not exactly a very clever move! Hope lessons have been learnt.

A shame? I don't think so. If its true that they were for charity, KNH should have known better.

I once saw some cooking oil with 'Property of USA' in a shop in Isiolo at one time.

All am saying is, if its for charity, let there be no room for any doubt, we know what our fellow 'enterpreneurs' can do if given a chance. We also know how 3rd world nations are used as testing ground and/or dumping ground for almost expiring drugs.

2. Seeking approval from KRA before commencement of the process,
3. Approval from KEBS for quality.
