The traffic on Langata road in the evening has cleared, the same for the Bomas one in the morning. But from Bomas to Rongai in the evening is simply crazy.
My layman's take is that the bottlenecks at Masai lodge, tumaini, tuskys and Kware are the main culprits.
To whom can we direct our queries for a quick fix as we wait for the planned dualling of Magadi road ?
And who are those top cats who overlap in GK prados with a landrover escort everyday ? I would want to do an e-mail and ask them to use their offices to get us a permanent solution. Thanks for the update @FRM.I observed the same bottlenecks when i frequented the place earlier in the yr.i have interests there and i would also like to see at least those bottlenecks taken care of.Maybe we can lobby from the Governor's office, then senators(one of them is my neighbor) and hear what they say because this are easier solutions that can be a first step to reduce the traffic nightmare.am not in the country but i will support you to make the first move. The biggest problem stems from the Tuskys stage at Rongai...with almost every mat doing a U turn to head back to town and the space there is being non existent the chaos makes the situation worse... possunt quia posse videntur

Finally, great news for rongai residents. Someone has finally decided to do away with the tuskys stage and just like that, the traffic mess in the evening has cleared. From one hour to twenty minutes. To whoever made that brilliant decision, may God add you 20 more years.

Hi was in Ongata mid day to early eveining a month ago ,,,seemed fine. Gota small interest there . Place developing. County gava can look seriously at infrastracture? At the turn off towards ANU i see no issue. someone can object? Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value. –Albert Einstein.

Rongai also has the unofficial tag of the "dirtiest town in Kenya". The place stinks and is an eyesore. The market along the road from Tusky's stage to Kware Stage dumps stuff on the open drainage channel and when it roots its a nightmare to drive along that stretch. Hope the new model works though Do you foresee any eating loophole, now that the contractors will be using their own money/loans from banks to finance the projects to completion? Sioni, labza the small time bribes to the engineers etc. Once the tender is won kwisha. The govt funded ones have the biggest eating loopholes as the officials blackmail you before releasing the contract money to complete projects. TULIA.........UFUNZWE!

The model will work as follows: 1.The contractor will design, build and maintain the roads. 2.The contractor will source for funds 3.A payment modality will be agreed upon between the tripartite of the Government, contractor and bank (certification of works, milestones and assignment). 4.The Government will reimburse the consortium/banks at a uniform rate over an agreed period (annuity). 5.Contractors will complete contracted works within the stipulated time [not exceeding three (3) years]. 6.Contractors will guarantee construction quality and undertake post-construction maintenance of roads. If Obiero did it, Who Am I?

Finally Kajiado Governor , Matatu saccos , KERRA and KURA held a roundtable to discuss the perennial traffic menance and impunity by the matatus along Magadi Road. Funds to be allocated for improvement of Masaai Lodge road to Rimpa Road which is an bypass instead of everyone passing through the congested town. It has been tough for anyone living in this side of town.

@Josimar, Thanks for the update. Methinks the main gridlock is between Parkplace and Massai lodge turnoff, which on a bad day can last like 2hrs. If they can too think of that road Off Cooperative college, through Gataka and then to Rongai, it would too ease the traffic as can can access it through Karen and completely avoid Magadi road. If I remember correctly, there is a part of the stretch that connects Gataka road and cooperative college that is a private road. Personally, I don't even bother with Magadi road these days - labda usiku sana. They should also do Gataka road it's terrible. All Mushrooms are edible! Some Mushroom are only edible ONCE!

I dont understand how residents commute daily here. Just the other day we were cut off by seasonal rivers and were unable to get back to Nbo after a 1 hr.downpour. Can't those bridges be raised?? The residents seem to enjoy all that so what to Say.Avoid those sides when it pours.
