it's back to 5 bob with 25m demand versus 6m supply.

Another foreigner trying to take position? I don't know but I will take some profit when my target price is reached....

Im still in buying race as long as its under 5shs ,my projection is to accumulate as much as i can since fundamentals speaks for itself. However its not that you cannot sell,It depends on how much you have as to be able to dispose and make the small margin as a profit.Otherwise unless you have quite a chunk its hard to make that big profit. But looking at a big picture..money is there at long last in Safaricom!..that's just my view..any opionion

Looking at the volumes being traded today per transaction, its the institutions or some big player selling to international investors who have so far bought 94% of the 11.22M shares traded so far (11.10am). I've seen a trade of 616,200, 1.05M, and 946,000. This is not wanjiku buying or selling. Let the big boys play their games. But suppy is also high now at 12.86M vs a demand of 8.50M as at 11:10am

Well unless the "wazungu" have more orders, it will drop later today, too many sell orders.

@muchknow, the wazungu are still buying it. Currently they have bought 97%. The volum are huge, (296000, 373000, 1M, 331000, 50000, etc). Lets see how far they are willing to go with their deep pockets

Typical kenyan upuzi... selling out then later complaining that 'foreigners' own the major firms...

KQ is where the real action is,the potential on the upside is far more greater than Safcom
The utimate goal of investing is to buy low sell high;if we re-write this core equation in psychology terms it becomes buy fear sell greed.

Safaricom at 5.30 but headed to 5.50

The cost of trades on NSE puts me off otherwise I would like to ride the safaricom wave.

@pierce - Well, KQ has touched 45/- recently though the current price is 41.

I have said it on other forums but I am looking at a minimum of 42/- by 1 June 2010 (after results are announced). This forecast was initially made when KQ was still in the low 30s.

Would I sell now? I am not sure. I am waiting for more information i.e. 3Q pax results.

@cnn - The hedges are rolling off. The one-time hit FY 2008-9 took care of it. The cash losses (as the hedges mature) do concern me but KQ has enough cash to pay them off.

The increase in oil from $50 to $70-84 since 30 Sep 2009 will (sorta) benefit KQ though I prefer lower oil prices.

The 1H was affected by a huge 1-off charge (600mn) for the crew (strike)... this was an amount that included some back-dated payments.

2H seems to have better prospects (as said at the AGM)... and WC 2010 will provide a boost for KQ's 2H results.

@Pierce - I put my money where my mouth is... and I am invested in KQ... the higher the better...
