compare the working environment between the two companies, compare how they treat their employees, compare how much they pay, compare avenues to develop yourself. then toss a coin coz all those don't really mean a shit. given how the cousin to a friend of an uncles's sister's husband is always in wazua and nigerian fora i cant see how they then do any constructive work, leave alone having any glory to be stolen.

All employers know that employees are dispensable,so they would not consider going to extreme lengths such as this. I mean you've got to be extremely unique and valuable, which imo is wrong in a Co. because one ends up manipulating the boss and leaving a dent the moment they leave. It's blackmail and I wouldn't pull such a crazy stunt if I were an employer.

There is a guy I know who was so fed up with his dept boss that when an offer to ship out to a smaller competitor came, he didn't think twice about it. So as he was being allocated system access rights in the new company, the IT guy was like, " you are so lucky, Mr. xyz (his former boss), will be the new head of dept here "

You what Wendz? You are one smart person. We overlooked a couple of things mentioned in the post. 1. Never leave your current job for money sake. After all people leave well paying jobs to stay at home, so Money can never be a good or the only motivator. 2. Do not think about now,but future career prospects/growth. 3. Never leave a place that is doing well esp a multinational.There is a lot learn, contribute,the network notwithstanding. 4.Never take Co.trainings for granted.For christ's sake,it's not a charity. 5.Of course your work gets acknoweldged. No serious Co.would invest in a non-performer. 6.Your boss is there to keep you sane.(if you have a nice one .They make you become better and work harder,at least the ones that I know of. Ok Go ye and work hard. Do not jump before your time. and you will be rewarded.

You can't even begin to compare the pay between a local and an expat on the same job level. My advice is, if you work for a multinational, do it for the experience then go local. I did the same and I provide the same solution I used to provide at the multinational at a more affordable rate in my business. By the way, I'm not undercutting them, I just don't have the kind of expensive overheads they have especially the bloated salaries they pay the undeserving expats.
