We live in a world where 7 jumbo jets full of children crash DAILY

Quote:
At least a million people die from malaria each year. Some put the estimates as high as 2.7 million.
90% of the deaths are in sub-Saharan Africa.
70% of the deaths are of children under 5.
That's equivalent to one child dying of malaria in Africa every 30 seconds.
Put another way, 7 jumbo jets full of children disappear because of malaria every day.

nothing to worry about right?

right on cue! of course it's all the government's fault! I mean... you pay your taxes... you vote and follow the laws. What else are you expected to do?... dance for the president?? that is where your responsibility ends RIGHT?

And when you have carried out your responsibility and the government is-not ready to act... Civil revolt? Now, the friends you hang out with (Senators) want to increase their salaries. This money could have been used to buy mosquito nets and fumigate mosquito prone etc. And you don't see anything with the senator's move! That is the tragedy of our times!

Look at the bigger picture... why are children dying...lack of this that and the other... why do they lack this that and the other? Because @masukuma and @kabz in cahoots with government officials are fleecing the government by getting inflated contracts to supply hospitals with chalk packaged as drugs, which has led to those deaths. And @Masukuma and his associates comes here shedding tears of a crocodile... bure kabisa.

another 7 jumbo jets will crash today! but i guess our responsiblity lies in paying taxes, voting for representatives, following the law and the occasional dance to the ones in political office. we will be called to act again in the next 3-4 years (3-12 million lives later) and by placing a check or a cross or a thumbprint in a piece of paper we shall have done our responsibility.

@masukuma, Why do you think it happens in Africa and not elsewhere?
What needs to be done?

What made USAID withdraw from Kenya some years ago?

Africans should learn to take their own responsibilities.
This mentallity that solutions to our many BASIC problems will come from elsewhere should end.If we are unable to deal with our issues , a solution can be found. We should petition our governments for a referendum. Then we decide to join our colonial masters as one UK.especially if Scotland go we get in aka Crimea. Win Win.

@masukuma, I see you've chosen to answer my question, instead responding with a question of your own

The reason why it happens in Africa is because we are irresponsible.

We cannot vote in forward thinking leaders and when outsiders come to our aid, we mismanage it.

The citizens worship their tribal leaders and will go to great length in defending their so-called leaders.

Poor GOVERNANCE and SYCOPHANCY are to blame.
