I am interested in learning more about economics for personal improvement. Please share any good books that can make a good read. I am also a light weight on this area and therefore please dont suggest some heavy weight type books, I am not ready to plunge myself into Keynesian theories bla bla bla. Just looking for a type of book I can read at the end of a long day.

Have a happy holiday season and a productive and safe new year.

In economics 'light read' is an oxymoron. Try the wealth of nations by adam smith for a start. It may be centuries old but captures the essence

"What the Dog saw" a collection of articles by by Malcom Gladwell. Not as good as his other books. But the piece he did of Nassim Taleb now seems prescient, considering the global financial implosion of the past two years.

BTW Taleb has since made it big; from his two books, from speaking tours and of course by betting on randomness.

@ Muganda

I read that piece, its thought provoking and raises the question - when do we know we are suffering from information overload and over analysis of information.

@ Wakanyugi

Try Freakonomics and Superfreakonomics by Lewitt. It will tickle you in ways you never thought.

Just finished wangare maathai autobiography. Not a literature masterpiece but a nice read. Honest and direct.

Last week read an old book called men who ruled kenya. Book about DC and other white men who ruled kenya before independence. Made me realize that my forefathers were ruled and harrased by a group of maverick british cow boys.

Now reading chimamanda adichie half of a yellow sun. This lady is an amazing story teller.

On economics im studying sustainable health financing iptions in southern africa.

If you haven't yet, read Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki...It is a common one but good for the basics of personal finance...

To answer the question "what are you reading?", I mostly read Christian Books, mostly on marriage but also on many other topics...
