The earth is a sphere and that's why planes flying from Australia, New Zealand, Japan etc fly east to the US. Infact Singapore airlines used to operate flight 21 to the US which headed northwards over the north pole and then south to the US. Isn't it interesting to note that if someone flew eastwards non stop from jkia, they would go to Asia, then south America, then to Congo, Uganda and back to jkia. If you flew northwards you'd go through the middle east, Russia, then emerge in South Africa and back to Nairobi.

" And the earth, moreover, hath He extended (to a wide expanse);" Quran chapter 79:30 Word used in Arabic means "egg-shape"And it is not any egg, but the egg of an ostrich. And we know (other proofs) tell us that the world is not completely round. It is geospherical, it is bulging from the center. If you analyze the shape of an egg of an ostrich, it is geo-spherical! So the Quran describes the exact geo-spherical earth 1400 years ago!

'world' and 'earth' are two different things.
I can imagine a world that is flat instead of spherical. Or rather there might actually be flat worlds.
Again, the 3d imagery of the earth is a mathematical construction I suspect. If I'm correct, then we could be looking at a different mathematical worldview when someone says that the earth is flat.
