Hi @Kagwa, some of us left campus a while back but my 2 cents of the matter. Most businesses thrive on demand. demand is driven by need. What essential services are scarce in your campus? During my time, it was internet, CDs, DVDs, printing & photocopying services. The other angle to business is what services exist outside of campus that you could conveniently locate in campus e.g flowers & cakes delivery, laundry services, courier services. These give you a niche.
All the best!

Best business to do in campus is to read, pass and graduate.

And tarmac anyways...campus aint what it used to be Sparkly...it is clear you have not heard of something called education inflation...a degree is next to useless and now they need pHd's to give you a six figure salary for those who do not have connections (99% of students dont have those connections)...Kagwa..multitask and work like a robot both in class and at work...no shortcuts. How about you start a printing business and learn how to repair computers? It may sound mechanical, but I know someone who mints serious cash from printing and computer repairs during his free time in campus.

Depends on capital and personnel requirements. Quote the capital you want to put in and the minimum number of personnel you can supervise or if you want to run it solely.

@SM the more things change the more they remain the same. I was there, did that, not too long ago. Did business-printing bureaus, pool tables, campus politics, worked part time and generally lived a good life. FYI we still traded stocks those years and it was paper trading.

Life in campus is different from life outside. The money you think is a lot of money in campus cannot sustain you out there for one month!

Try doing business without capital and academic papers while also hustling to feed yourself and pay rent for a bedsitter then you will know what destitution is.

No, I got you right. You are the one who got @kagwa's question wrong.

If someone asked you what is the best business to do in church? bar? club? I guess your answers would be pray, drink, dance respectively. Why would it be any different in campus?

Campus is not an incubation centre, let getting papers be the primary activity and look elsewhere for sustainable business ventures.

I agree with @sparkly 100%. When in campus put all your effort in what took there, your studies, coz your are there for a relatively very brief period of your life which has a huge impact on the rest of your life.
When i was in campus i used to see those "hustlers" always running some busineses eg printing, cds, dvds, shoes, clothes........even selling weed, many would miss classes as they were busy on biz, some would even hire their colleagues to do assignments and CATs for them. Bottom line is that their grades suffered.
But some years after graduation i never see the hustlers doing any better but are still hustling off campus. Those i normally see doing well are those who were focused on their studies and got good grades and were hired by both gov't and private sector. Others got scholarships for further studies locally and abroad, and seem to be doing well.

My point is, when in campus, put 105% of your time and effort on your studies. You will never regret that decision.

You guys ignore the fact that some people in campus have to fend for themselves, pay their school fees and study at the same time. Advising such a person to stick to books only is impossible because they may not be able to maintain their stay there. Not everyone comes from a rich background. Campus is full of diverse people. My say is that if it is absolutely necessary that you have to fend for yourself when in campus, find a strategy to multitask both business and education. There is no other way out

He has a little, that is certainly not enough for fees and upkeep at campus, so he is trying to multiply the little, for it to get somewhere near enough. I think that is what @Mutaga is saying.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God..

In this life you need to be an all rounder,@Kagwa i would go with @Mutaga,s advice, what are students demanding, fill that gap and you are good to go...but also rem your books.Being rich and successful is the easiest thing, yet it can be equally difficult.
