I understand your mentality and cannot blame you.But that doesn't make home a no go zone cz westerners believe that you are a foreigner in their land.C'mmon, you must have a sense of belonging and be proud of it regardless, otherwise you look lost to the people whose culture you are assimilating.

Anyway, tuko na shida moja.
We are building western like structures and adopting western systems but try to maintain them using the african mentality.

'The caretakers wako wanalipwa so lets give them work'.. is how we reason.

We don't give a damn about our ENVIRONMENT! nor understand its impact on our overall well being.

We spit anyhow, pee on flowers, walls and bushes, throw gum haki someone make me Nbo Governor fast.

Development begins in the mind before it can be realised. The citizen will say, hatuna time ya kukeep clean cz we got to hustle.
Sawa, then Hustle Eco -Friendly jameni! if others can what makes it so hard for us to.

Compare Africa with another African country and you will be at peace.

Ni vile we have ties with the west so comparisons have to be made.

Ok

Traffick wise, Accra is fairly well orderly...as at Feb 2014.

Now this make sense.Let's do justice to ourselves cz truth be told we have 99 decades to go before we can boast of good traffic/drainage.

And knowing that NBO fairs better than KLA we can now compare it with CPT, tuone how bad we fair.
Then go to lagos.. etc
Just don't cross the mediterranean when making traffic comparisons.

kysse. according to substandard the world will be struck by a meteor on 16 march 2880. so we can forget ever boasting of good drainage

Just got back from a long long trip abroad, glad to be back in Kenya!! Just a few observations from my trip:

1. KQ is hands down the WORST flying experience I had. I flew another national carrier, as well as cheapo airlines, but KQ takes the cake! Massive delays, shitty ground and aircraft staff, pathetic meals...

2. Road manners in Kenya really need improving. I drove in another third world country with terrible traffic, and a developed nation. Both countries had drivers with more consideration than us Kenyans. We really need to learn basic manners.

3. Kenyan kienyeji kuku is the TASTIEST chicken I've eaten, ever!! You just cant compare our kuku to kuku overseas...its like the diff between KQ and Emirates...a class apart!

4. Kenya desperately needs a decent PR firm to run this govt's image. Everywhere I went there were so many questions about terrorism, security, bad governance. It really was depressing trying to convince folks we are a good investment option.

5. I finally saw what sycophants here refer to as "Chinese investors". No jokes, those guys have huge money to spend, and buy whole apartment blocks of 100 apartments off plan...They're nothing like the low level guys we get here..

6. Data in Kenya is cheap and easily available. We should be grateful for our mobile data... We can sambaza data, etc etc which isn't available in most countries.

A few more later when jet lag wears off....

right on all counts! I tend to think kenyans have a perception of themselves that is not based on reality... sisi ni watu wa 3rd world! ACCEPT and work at it! Shina has money bwana... proper money!

the KQ one .... needs qualifying... kuna ndege zingine bwana! Inshallah airlines! by the way why do KQ people take headphones from before landing? Like really? tutapeleka wapi hizo headphones and the jack is even weird?

Lucky to be given those headphones, in most US airlines you pay for the headphones, I still believe some people bash KQ for nothing just kuonyesha wametoka majuu ama wamepanda ndege
Life is an endless adventure

...you have not told us about the cats. Did you sample any? From my experience (on several occasions) the kenyan ones catch rats better than overseas ones...

You see @kysee i do not make home a no go zone area i visit and that's how i have sampled the odds like the ones you have sampled too. I can see you are bitter about such behaviour in Nai . Thats the same way i feel. But you complaint is more genuine since i pay very little tax in Kenya if any.

I see everyone trying to point at someone else apart from themselves. The problem is not the gov, KQ, the President, but the big problem is you and I period. Everything else is a manifestation of what/who we are.

That's True Murchr.Above listed cannot function without us. That is why Progress must go hand in hand with education because ignorance derails it.
On 2nd thought No,because the most educated lead in contributing to environmental degradation.
So what exactly is our problem? since it can't be education.

I think I know- It's a mentality which can't stand order, neatness, cleanliness, functionality, lazima tuspoil everything around us cz sisi ni waafrika so we say.
How to change that? Please tell me.

PUNISHMENT! Human beings are bound to break the law when they know they may get away with it. Its punishment that made things work in these so called countries where the everything seems to be orderly. Figure this out. Not stopping on a red light will cost you $75 - $200 depending on where you've done it. Drive over 30Kph on a sch zone and pay up $200 plus a defensive driving course meaning you'll have to forego work or sch so to take that, or go to court. Kuambiwa haitoshi, the law enforcers must do their jobs, and so should the judicial system, and the drivers.

Remember high sch?
