Just got back from a long long trip abroad, glad to be back in Kenya!! Just a few observations from my trip:

1. KQ is hands down the WORST flying experience I had. I flew another national carrier, as well as cheapo airlines, but KQ takes the cake! Massive delays, shitty ground and aircraft staff, pathetic meals...

2. Road manners in Kenya really need improving. I drove in another third world country with terrible traffic, and a developed nation. Both countries had drivers with more consideration than us Kenyans. We really need to learn basic manners.

3. Kenyan kienyeji kuku is the TASTIEST chicken I've eaten, ever!! You just cant compare our kuku to kuku overseas...its like the diff between KQ and Emirates...a class apart!

4. Kenya desperately needs a decent PR firm to run this govt's image. Everywhere I went there were so many questions about terrorism, security, bad governance. It really was depressing trying to convince folks we are a good investment option.

5. I finally saw what sycophants here refer to as "Chinese investors". No jokes, those guys have huge money to spend, and buy whole apartment blocks of 100 apartments off plan...They're nothing like the low level guys we get here..

6. Data in Kenya is cheap and easily available. We should be grateful for our mobile data... We can sambaza data, etc etc which isn't available in most countries.

A few more later when jet lag wears off....

I was in Asia & Australasia.

Fish comparisons:

1. Kenyan fish are more user friendly than foreign fish. However, foreign fish come in a wider variety of sizes, shapes, colours, looks etc. Kenyan fish tend to keep to one shape. LOL.

2. Overseas fish require high levels of attention, unlike good ol' kenyan fish, where a few drinks and some soft convo can suffice.

3. Kenyan fish taste better than those GMOs fish. Period. Landings are more pleasant.

Reminds me of what I call 'value system'. Do we as a society have any value system.
The wealthy do not sleep coz the poor are awake and hungry, the poor do not sleep coz they are hungry. Discuss

@KulaRaha ????? are you suggesting that our security and governance are good and the negative perception outsiders have is caused by bad publicity!!!! Unless we remove our heads from the sand and tackle our problems head-on, we will forever remain a third world country as you must have observed for yourself..

3 weeks ago I landed at JKIA on a sunday Morning. Took a taxi home and from the onset told the guy how disciplined the drivers/traffic is where i had come from..even when you are alone on an intersection and the lights turn red they stop.

SO we drive on and by the time we got to Nyayo Stad/Bunyara Rd Roundabout the Lights went Red. I expected the guy, after my beautiful narration and his hearty responses, would stop.....

I was wrong!!! very.....vrooooom it was.

I leaned back on the seat and shut my beak mpaka home.

Kripp, we are definitely third world, in all senses of the term. However, I feel we are a good investment, and we need new ideas and concepts to help improve. We also need decent PR management, as our reputation is really in the mud out there. Very sad.

To start with,Our news are all about death, murder, fights accidents, dead men resurrecting, mob justice, politicians sleeping with mpangos, others wanting their chopped arms back, illegal brews, immorality, theft vitu mbaya mbaya enough to make you cringe in public..etc
Don't we have positive stuff happening across the country that are of national importance?.
And What kind of journalists are these who go into people's homesteads to bring us negative domestic issues as matters of national attention which we proudly show guests at all our exits and entry points?

We embarass ourselves then cry foul when people complain about us.

yaawn.
