Interesting TED Talk
The moral roots of liberals and conservatives

If you want the truth to stand clear before you, never be for or against. The struggle between "for" and "against" is the minds worst disease.

another one on our Buggy moral code

http://www.ted.com/talks...uggy_moral_code#t-44073

People cheat but just by little bit. When we remind them about morality then cheating less. When we see cheating done by members of the same group cheating increases. When we use something else to represent money e.g. tokens e.t.c and money is distant object then cheating increases.

There is a science of morality. Incidentally, it's the science of all healing.

Maka,

he slaps his head since he knows that @tycho complicates an already complicated subject further by 'weighing in'!

Science can answer moral questions

Quote:
Questions of good and evil, right and wrong are commonly thought unanswerable by science. But Sam Harris argues that science can — and should — be an authority on moral issues, shaping human values and setting out what constitutes a good life.
