Someone educate me, I have always seen Kengen paying out more dividents than KPLC. Both have slid significantly year-to date. And the fact that everything that KPLC sells came from Kengen. What makes KPLC seem to have better growth to investors than Kengen? Is it that the middleman earns more than the producer?

Disclaimer: I own both

I've noticed that some stocks rise steadily under the radar...like what KPLC is doing now. The price rises daily but not enough to make the day's top 5 gainers, and so hardly anyone notices the ascent. And when it has doubled everyone wonders what happened. I hope that is the case with this stock. Drool

The Financial Year for KPLC ended over a month ago. The possibility of some insiders being privy to these results cannot be discounted.

Also, the US African leaders meeting currently going on is heavy on electricity provision/energy investment with Kenya one of the six targeted African countries.

KPLC is still highly under priced especially with the Jubilee Govt target of increasing the installed capacity for electricity generation by 5538MW in the next 3 years. All this electricity will be distributed by KPLC.

By the end of this year, the share should be trading above Ksh 20.

Happy Hunting.

@Stockmaster, so where does the gain in KPLC put KEGN, higher, lower or nowhere? What will the rights issue do to it?
