At the risk of sounding insensitive,let me make the point of irresponsible parenthood. The blame is not always with the government. Some of those eating pig-meal chapatis were merely babies. Why are these people giving birth to so many children,so as to feed them of pig food?,Must people give birth to herds of children they cannot care for? These are irresponsible people in a large way and a part of the solution here is requiring these people to act responsibly with child bearing. Our leaders have the education,wealth and ability to rear several children but you will find them with one or two. Sometimes you need to face the issues without cowering to fears of seeming conceited. There is no food for everyone,so don't give birth and turn to ask what your child shall eat,serekali this,serekali that,simple! ODM

@prof, Can you hear the deafening silence?....I doubt you'll get many replies out of your rather twisted way of looking at things.It is the responsibility of the government to provide basics.......Very few Kenyans are asking for food.Give them land,water and security and they can fend for themselves.........The issue at hand is inequality and not family size and if you think otherwise,can you tell us how rich your mom was when she gave birth to you? Much as @ Prof. has a point,his tone is not 'people friendly' Poor pple procreate more oftenly due to factors of the 'Needs triangle' They go to bed early to save the little paraffin of 5/=. They assume they have taken supper even if it was juz an appetizer. (yes the kids shud not imagine another meal coming) With no financial muscle to show,the best option for the head of the house to prove his 'totalness' is to play bed minton regularly....hence more children If our systems were well working,even the poor of this land would be living above current poverty levels. Fix the political problem and socio-economic equations would be fixed I was born intelligent,education ruined me.
